“Kadama”

Kadama “housemaid” in Arabic and “Kafeeling” in a Filipino slang. A shared feeling or sympathy. The painting is a homage of Philippines and UAE relationship, wherein both exists on a shared fabric of care, love, unity and family.

The artwork is a tribute to the humble heroes of private homes that make it livable with trust, dignity greater food and happiness.

The artist also dedicates the painting to all the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) who sacrifice to bring light for their children’s dreams and future and to the artist’s mother who once worked as a kadama to send herself to school.
